From Grammy-winning psychedelic rockers to country music superstars and Jazz pioneers, Oklahoma City has a diverse and impressive music history (read more about that here). The OKC music scene got even better this month as The Criterion opened up for its first show. Oklahoma native Ben Rector had the honors of being the first concert in the new ballroom.
Located in East Bricktown, The Criterion can hold up to 4,000 concert goers and has formed a partnership with world-renowned entertainment company Live Nation to help book shows.
That partnership is paying off as a diverse group of well-known acts are already scheduled to play the ballroom in its opening months. Rock band My Morning Jacket, singer-song writer Sturgill Simpson, Grammy-nominated duo Disclosure and comedian Brian Regan are just a sample of the already announced concerts. Check out the full list here and grab your tickets. They are going fast.
