If you have read our blog for long or been in Oklahoma City for more than a day you know there is great civic pride in the Metropolitan Area Projects (the cool kids just call it MAPS). Just about every good thing to come through our city the last 30 years probably owes a little (or a lot) of its success to at least one of the MAPS iterations. Time and time again the citizens of our great city have invested in the community and the results have been outstanding. That is something we can all be thankful for.
- MAPS- The granddaddy of them all. The original MAPS brought us the Chesapeake Energy Arena, Chickasaw Bricktown Ball Park, Oklahoma River, Bricktown Canal and so much more.
- MAPS for Kids- Sequels rarely live up to the originals (looking at you Weekend at Bernie’s II) but this one did. Every single school in the Oklahoma City metro was either rebuilt or renovated.
- MAPS 3- Progress on the latest projects is well underway and will bring a massive downtown park, whitewater facility, streetcar and more.
