Thundering Up and Onwards

Posted by: Greater Oklahoma City Chamber on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 12:00:00 am

Really looking to stay warm for the next couple of months? There is no place better to heat up than the Chesapeake Energy Arena during a Thunder game with 18,203 of your closest friends. If you are new to Oklahoma City, you don’t have to hang around long to realize the Thunder have taken the city and whole Sooner State by storm.

The 2014-2015 season just tipped off and it marks the seventh season of Thunder basketball in Oklahoma City. And what a seven years it has been. The Thunder has made the playoffs five straight years, including a trip to the NBA finals and three trips to the conference finals. The franchise will also be attempting to win their fifth-straight Northwestern Division Championship (Northwestern makes sense right?).

The Thunder are led by Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. Durant (better known as KD) is the reigning MVP of the NBA (seriously check out his MVP speech) and has made the All-NBA first team 5 times in his seven-year career. KD is not nice and is the baddest.

Westbrook (who we like to call Russ) is a three-time All-Star and three-time All-NBA selection. Russ also makes headlines off the court for his unique fashion style.

In all honesty, we could ramble on all day about the Thunder, Rumble, Ibaka and one of the best home court advantages in all of the NBA so we’ll stop. Just do yourself a favor, check out the home schedule and grab some tickets. You won’t be disappointed.
