The Science of Brewing

Posted by: Greater Oklahoma City Chamber on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 12:00:00 am

Beer and science. At first glance, those are two words that don’t seem to go together. But leave it to the fine folks at OKBio to find a way to merge the two. When you think about it, brewing is really all about science: it’s just chemical reactions.

At this point you are probably wondering what this rambling is all about (no we haven’t enjoyed a beer or three while writing this). This is all about the 3rd annual Brewfest this Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. You can learn all about the science of brewing beer by sampling more than 15 local breweries for just $25. If that wasn’t enough to sell you then you also get a free mug, t-shirt and live entertainment from Oklahoma’s own Hosty Duo.

Not big on adult beverages? No sweat, you won’t be left out. You can enjoy the Designated Driver deal for just $15. All the fun, all the free swag, but with non-alcoholic drinks.

So see you Thursday as we sample local breweries (or not), listen to some great music and hang out with some interesting scientists and entrepreneurs.
