Now that you have some ideas of how to celebrate Friendship Day 2014 in Oklahoma City, it’s only fair that OKC celebrate right alongside you. Oklahoma City is a member of Sister Cities International, an organization that was founded in 1956 to encourage peace and prosperity by creating bonds between people from different cities around the world.
Oklahoma City first joined the ranks of Sister Cities when it partnered with Taipei in 1981. Since then, Oklahoma City has declared a bond of international friendship with Haikou City, China; Kigali, Rwanda; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Tainan City, Chinese Taipei; Ulyanovsk, Russia and Puebla, Mexico. Talk about taking friendship to the next level!
