Oklahoma City is relatively new in comparison to some other states and certainly other parts of the world, but that doesn’t mean we lack history. Here’s a quick look at some of places in Greater Oklahoma City that claim the title of “oldest” in their given category.

• Eischen’s Antique Bar – Oldest bar in Oklahoma (and some legendary and world-renowned fried chicken)
• The Paseo Arts District – Oldest arts district community in Oklahoma City and oldest commercial shopping district outside of downtown Oklahoma City
• Pioneer Building – Oldest skyscraper in Oklahoma City
• Langston’s Western Wear – Oldest western wear store in Oklahoma (Stockyards City location)
• Mount St. Mary High School – Oldest high school in Oklahoma
• B.C. Clark Jewelers – Oklahoma’s oldest jewelry store and the oldest retail store in Oklahoma under the same name and ownership
• Choctaw, Okla. – Oldest chartered town in Oklahoma
