It’s the dog days of summer, and we can bet that you are ready for the kids to get out of your hair. What better way to help them burn off some extra energy (and get healthy, to boot) than signing them up for the Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation Department’s Kidathlon? This mini-triathlon with swim, bike and run is the perfect way to introduce your kiddos (ages 5 to 13) to a fun and challenging endurance sport.
Head out to the Earlywine Park & Family Aquatic Center on Aug. 10 for the pre-race meeting and sign-in at 7:45 a.m. Event distances vary by age group, and all participants need to bring their own gear, including a bike (and a helmet, of course). Here’s hoping that your family brings home the gold!
