When you think of art, what comes to mind? Beautiful paintings or magnificent sculptures? Art is that – and yet so much more. Oklahoma City is home to every type of art – from visual to performing and everything in between. Luckily for our arts organizations, they have a great advocate in their corner. Allied Arts represents and supports 20 local arts groups in the Greater Oklahoma City area. They raise awareness and money for the organizations, and offer educational opportunities for the community, like art camps for the visually impaired and formal ballet classes for economically disadvantaged students. But this organization wouldn’t exist without the community - it needs our support. Art matters - a thriving arts community is the hallmark of a thriving city – so don’t delay.
