Well, kids, it’s that time of year again. This coming Sunday, March 10, we will kick off daylight savings time by springing forward. Speaking of spring, it’s time for you to start scheming on how your garden will outshine your neighbors’ this year. And to give you a leg up, our friends over at the Myriad Gardens have a few tools for you.
Learn during your lunch hour. On Thursday, March 14, grab your lunch and trot on over to the 2nd floor conference room in the Crystal Bridge at the Myriad Gardens for a presentation on weather tools for gardeners. It’s free. And you’ll learn stuff. What more do you need?
On Saturday, March 16, head over to the Devon Auditorium (located at the corner of Sheridan and Hudson Avenues) for Oklahoma Garden School presented by Devon Energy. From 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., green thumb gurus will help you discover great plants for the great plains. The cost for this day of gardening greatness is $55 for nonmembers and $27 for members who pre-register. Walk-in costs are $60 for nonmembers and $30 for members.
We’ve got one more date you need to mark down before you dive into gardening this year. You gardened your heart out last year and it has left your tools a little on the dull side. No reason to worry. On Saturday, March 30, take up to three items to the West Activity Pavilion at the Myriad Gardens and get them sharpened. It’ll cost you $10 if you’re not a Myriad Gardens member. If you are, it’s FREE! And they’ll be passing out some great gardening tips.
