It’s the shindig of the year, literally. You don’t need Times Square, and certainly not Ryan Seacrest, to ring in the New Year right. Opening Night is Oklahoma City’s New Year’s Eve extravaganza, an array of music, dancing, roller derby, theater, magic, family fun and fireworks. Hosted by the Arts Council of Oklahoma City, the annual party is also family-friendly, boasting a scavenger hunt, children’s area (at the Cox Convention Center) and more. Admission wristbands are $8 in advance and $10 at the event. Children ages 5 and under are free. You can purchase them beforehand at 7-Eleven Stores of Oklahoma, metro Homeland stores, Science Museum Oklahoma and MidFirst Bank locations.
