If you’ve been downtown, chances are you’ve come across your share of street closures, construction and roadwork. Much of the activity is part of Project 180, an ambitious $140 million makeover to beautify downtown Oklahoma City. Renovating more than 180 acres (hence the name), Project 180 is adding public art, landscaping, decorative street lighting, marked bike lanes and on-street parking spaces.
Already the work has resulted in a dynamic transformation of the Myriad Botanical Gardens and Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory, with more improvements – including a children’s discovery park, restaurant and ice-skating rink – still to come. For more information, check out the Project 180 website.
