Oklahoma City is known for many things, but anyone who’s a sports fan knows one of them is the “Softball Capital of the World,” a fitting moniker for the headquarters of USA Softball, the national governing body of softball in the United States, and the site of the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex.
College softball’s best will hit the fields of the Complex later this week starting on Thursday, June 2 as the Women’s College World Series begins. Now a nine-day event, this eight-team softball extravaganza features the winners of the super regional tournaments, which were themselves winners of the 64-team regional round. The tournament concludes either Thursday, June 9 or Friday, June 10, depending on how the best-of-three final series plays out. Last year the event set attendance records and TV viewership marks and this year is expected to be more of the same. Interested in checking out the crowds and the action at one of the hottest sports in the world? Ticket info can be found at ncaatickets.com.
After the series, the Complex will continue to host tournaments of all ages and divisions. Keep up with the schedule at TeamUSA.org.
