We keep our followers updated daily with the latest and greatest news about what is happening here in OKC. We also share pieces of Oklahoma City’s history, encourage you to check out upcoming events, and make announcements of new episodes of our podcast, AudaCity.
In addition to our main social accounts on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, we have an OKC ambassador program called the OKC Social Squad. For those of you who like to know all the latest news about our city, this program was made for you!
OKC Social Squad members are people who help us spread the word about all the exciting things happening in our community through sharing posts (that we generate for you) on your personal Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter profiles. Participants earn points by sharing content and generating traffic. The more people who act (like, comment, retweet) on links shared by you, the more points you rack up! At the end of each month, the top point-earners receive awesome prizes to local businesses. In the past, we have given away Riversport Adventure season passes, gift cards to restaurant groups in the city, exclusive swag, and more!
“OKC Social Squad members help to spread all of the great news about OKC to far more people than we could do by ourselves. That really helps when it comes to marketing Oklahoma City, attracting potential business and tourism,” said Cynthia Reid, senior vice president, marketing and communications for the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber.
Unlike most social media prize-winning opportunities, participating in the OKC Social Squad not only gives you the ability to choose what you want to share to earn points, but it also rewards you for your participation. The more you interact with the program, the greater your chances of winning. The squad is relatively small right now, so those who choose to share a few posts a month have a good possibility of making it to the top of the leaderboard and bringing home something to smile about!
For the month of July, the contest’s prizes are guided by our Stand Tall, Shop Small for OKC campaign. The top point earners will win gift cards to local businesses around OKC, featuring Chamber Members like Tin Lizzie’s, PLENTY Mercantile, Red Coyote Running and Fitness, Painted Door, and more!
