It is the time of year where you need to break out your best green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. There is no better place to start in the 4-0-5 than the annual OKC Energy FC O’City Parade. This year’s parade will be Saturday, March 14 in downtown Oklahoma City at 11 a.m.
Stockyards City will also celebrate ye ‘ol Irish holiday with a parade at 10 a.m. The family-friendly event will include the famous Chain Ranch Longhorns walking down Exchange Avenue, leading bagpipes, antique cars, horse-back riders and floats.
After either parade, head over to the Myriad Botanical Gardens for Go Green in the Gardens. For just a $5 wristband you can enjoy the Oklahoma Scottish Pipes and Drums, food trucks, beer and more. This is a family-friendly event as there will be games and face painting for your little leprechauns. Go Green in the Gardens will last from noon to 4 p.m.
The fun doesn’t stop there as Scissortail Park will be hosting their first St. Pat’s in the Park at the Love’s Travel Stops Stage & Great Lawn. The free concert will start at 2 p.m., and feature Irish music and dance from McTeggart Irish Dancers of Oklahoma and more. Yes, don’t worry there will also be plenty of green beer.
