On Western

Forget that stuff you learned in school about Manifest Destiny and that adage to “go west, young man.” In Oklahoma City, it’s more advisable to go Western Western Avenue, that is.

A stretch of Western running south from Wilshire Boulevard to NW 36th Street boasts many of the city’s most interesting and offbeat restaurants, stores, clubs and art galleries. From an eco-friendly baby store to designer denim, candy to freshly baked bread, antiques to lingerie, the parade of stores along Western caters to almost every taste. And that doesn’t even include the shopping extravaganzas found in nearby retail centers like Nichols Hills Plaza and Classen Curve.

Looking for a good place to eat? Western features a mouth-watering array of restaurants that includes Café Nova, Deep Fork Wood Grill & Seafood, Flip’s Wine Bar & Trattoria, Iron Starr Urban Barbecue, Musashi’s Japanese Steakhouse, Sushi Neko and The Wedge Pizzeria. Manifest Destiny was never so delicious.
