Are you a bookworm? Or are you on the hunt for some books to fill up that new bookshelf? Don't miss the annual OKC Library Book Sale, Friday Feb. 24 through Sunday, Feb. 26. Started in 1981, this book sale is put on by the Friends of the Library at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds. Not only can you find some great deals but the proceeds go back to the Library System to help with programs and services not covered in their budget.
With more than 600,000 books, magazines and videos this event is one of the largest book sales in the nation. Last year $155,242 was raised and approximately $2.9 million has been granted back to the library due to this event. The Friday sale is a special members-only event and will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Not a member? You can join here! On Saturday and Sunday the sale is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. There's no cost to attend so bring a friend, buy some books and help a great cause.
