A project of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, the Urban Harvest grows fruits and vegetables for the hungry and helps educate Oklahomans about the importance of proper nutrition. The comprehensive program boasts a demonstration garden, greenhouse (complete with an aquaponic system and tilapia tank), orchard and an innovative “plant-a-row” initiative that encourages gardeners to grow a little extra for others in their community. To become an Urban Harvest volunteer, call Mason Weaver at 600-3142 or email at mweaver@regionalfoodbank.org.
