Cut to: Film Row

One of Oklahoma City's more unique historic areas is along Sheridan Avenue between Classen Boulevard and Walker Avenue, and otherwise known as the Film Exchange District. As early as 1907, the stretch began to house film exchange offices for regional movie theaters to screen and lease films. Nearly every big studio was represented – Paramount, Warner Brothers, 20th Century Fox and the like – with those followed by other businesses catering to the movie palaces of yesteryear. Like so many once-neglected areas of the city, the district is in the midst of an impressive rebirth and well worth exploring – especially one of the district's anchors, Joey's Pizzeria.
