THE GREATER OKLAHOMA CITY CHAMBER

The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber is the voice of Business and the visionary organization in Oklahoma City. We are working to create a business climate that attracts new businesses and enhances growth and expansion opportunities for existing businesses. We are committed to creating value-added membership opportunities and benefits. Ultimately, we will create a community with an irresistible quality of life.

Our Strategy:
"Greater Oklahoma City" is our "product." We lead the effort to continually improve and successfully market our product. We understand that an effective, viable organization is necessary to successfully implement the strategy.

Desired Regional Outcomes:

  • New Primary Jobs
  • New Investment
  • Higher Per Capita Income
  • Increased Hotel Occupancy
  • Real Estate Space Absorption

In business vernacular, the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber is a "product manager." As a product manager, we have a dual role: Our first role is to continually improve the product. The quality of the product, or the "quality of place," is a major determinant to the ability to succeed in growing and attracting quality jobs, investments, and visitors. Our second role is to successfully market the product. Successful marketing includes defining the targeted audiences, marketing to them, and successfully "closing" the sale with them. Until investments are actually made and new jobs created, there is no economic development.

Major focus areas include Product Development, Product Sales and Organizational Development.
